Oak Honest Records is taking its show on the road! New England’s rising star is putting its money where its mouth is by bringing its talented roster to the people. Audiences across the region will be able to witness OHR’s charms first hand via intimate acoustic performances.
“New England is teeming with talent, particularly singer-songwriters,” says label owner and artist, Derek O’Kanos. He continues to say, “I wanted to find a way to promote our talent, explore the greater region, and help to connect the people of New England.” That’s a bold ambition, but how would you go about doing it? The answer just may be a monthly songwriters series.
Once a month, Oak Honest Records assembles songwriters from the label as well as associated acts to present a night of New England based singing and storytelling in a different New England state. The series kicks off in January and will run through June. Each show will feature a different roster of talent and be a unique experience; no two events will be exactly the same.
Naturally, the series begins at home, for OHR at least. The Brattleboro based label will host the first installment at The Collective Lounge & Bar on Elliot St. on January 14, 2022. Performing will be OHR label artists Derek O’Kanos, Michael James Anderson, and ‘K-Dogg’ Kevin Wamsley of Riley Lücifer. Also featured is OHR musical ally Greg Eichler, and local songwriters Tobias Moore and James Goyette.
While other information is still to be announced, here’s what we know so far! The series will run January through June and in the order of: Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island. Here’s a handy graphic:

The best way to see if OHR is coming to a town near you is to give us a follow wherever you follow things! We’re looking forward to getting out there in 2022.
See you on the road!
