Los Angeles based humorist Dylan Brody has joined forces with New England’s Oak Honest Records to release his next album, Road Tested, a partnership with singer-songwriter Chauncey Bowers. Brody is an established humorist, comedian, author, and playwright. His work has been featured on numerous outlets, including: Sirius XM, NBC’s The Tonight Show, The Huffington Post, A&E’s Comedy on the Road, and others.
Brody uses stand up-style storytelling to bring humor and insight, literate and literary, to a broad based audience. His work is as relatable as it is clever, equally at home in the everyday and the outrageous. This is part of what distinguishes him from other comedic creatives. In short, he puts the wise in wise guy.
In this, his first collaborative album, Brody allows music to both inform and support his spoken word work, giving Bowers center stage when appropriate to build a full, rich two-man performance that explores the interplay between music and speech, lyricism and language.
Oak Honest Records recognizes in Road Tested the spirit of authentic creative expression. The coming digital release, a live recording, celebrates of the intersection of life, humor, and music. From the bright language of Mr. Brody to the music and lyrics of Los Angeles based Garage-Folk musician Chauncey Bowers, the entire album casts light via metaphor, sarcasm, and story.
