Michael James Anderson

Location: Manchester, CT
Genre(s): Indie, Emo, Folk-Punk

Based out of Manchester, Connecticut, and no stranger to the road, Michael James Anderson struck out on his own after playing in the metal/punk trio Flu, releasing his first solo record Wake Up For The Shakedown in 2008, followed by Restless Sea (2010), Left Of The Dial (2012), Amend (2013 EP), Some Say Minnesota (2017 EP), various 7 inch splits, and Scarecrow, I Think I’ll Miss You Most of All (2021 EP). In addition to his solo work, Anderson is also a member of indie sensation Johnny Mainstream.

Having been compared to the likes of Elliot Smith, Iron and Wine, and Luka Bloom, all of which Anderson admits he is a fan of, many of Michael’s recordings give the listener the feeling that he is simply playing a song to just them in their living room.
